On November 14th, Team MuscleDog helped to sponsor the 2009 NPC Eastern USA Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure Championships with guest poser Kai Greene at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York City. The sold-out show proved to have the best turnout ever, and featured over 270 competitors. This year’s show added the Bikini division, and it was an important one for many of the competitors, who were preparing for NPC nationals the following week.
The 2009 NPC Eastern USA Championship show is produced by the legendary Bev Francis and Steve Weinberger of the Bev Francis Powerhouse Gym. Bev Francis is an IFBB bodybuilder who competed in 1983 and participated in the film Pumping Iron 2. Her husband, Steve Weinberger, is the chairmen of the New York Metropolitan area and has been judging and promoting contests since 1988.
