Thank you for taking the time to read this. I would love to hear from any of you on here that have played the sport of football or are currently playing the sport. A little bit about myself. I have played football at the High School, College, and Semi-pro levels. I live to watch and play the game. My main focus on here is to try and get you guys to share some workouts with eachother that are football specific. I want to start us off by talking about the subject that makes or breaks a football player….CONDITIONING. This is vital. There is a workout I love called four corners. Coaches set up a station at each corner of the football field. These stations can vary in what drill you are running, that is up to you coaches, but for example…One corner will be set up for chutes. These are 40 yard sprints with parachutes. 5 to 8 reps with up and back consisting of one rep. The players will then jog to the next station which will be cone drills, next station power bands, and the final station being box jumps. The main thing is to keep your players moving. Once they are done at one station run to the next. These are just examples, but like I said the actual drill selection is up to the coach. This is great cardio training. Coaches, always keep water avaliable to your players!!
