PeteBauman: well everything in moderation. sugar and alcohol are processed very similarly in your liver, so sugary drinks are not necessarily any better for you than beer. that’s partially the reason why drinking a lot of mixed drinks gives you such a nasty hangover in the morning, it’s like getting more alcohol than you actually consumed.

i would limit it to only a couple drinks at a time. a big guy like you should be able to hold his own and get by with only drinking one or two. hell, if anyone calls you out for only drinking a couple, you could always rip your shirt off and tell them you wouldn’t look like that if you drank like they did, haha. i think that might shut some d-bags up and maybe get you some digits.

PeteBauman: Drinking in and of itself doesn’t necessarily hurt T levels, but drinking large amounts of beer can definitely be detrimental. The hops in beer promote creation of estrogen, and that’s why guys develop beer bellies and man titties. The sugar combination from the grains and alcohol also overload your liver and promote lypogenesis. I would say that a single glass of wine or one beer a day shouldn’t be too terrible, but that also depends on your goals, your genetics, and your family of history in dealing with addiction and alcoholism.

For example, if you are training for a bodybuilding or fitness competition, don’t process sugars well and come from a family with 3 generations of AA members I would say you should avoid having even one. If you are a typical weekend warrior just looking to stay in shape, can eat french fries without having your ass jiggle for a week, and have a smoking hot gf who loves sharing a glass of wine with you over dinner but knows how to stop at one, I’d say one-a-day is fine.
