Max Aita – An accomplished and active Olympic style weightlifter from Montana, Max is a strength coach at the California Strength Academy. After studying under Ivan Abadzhiev, the famous Bulgarian strength coach, Max secured the job at the California Strength Academy and currently runs the athletic training program at the academy working with athletes from prep to pro. Peter Bauman – Peter is a chef first and personal trainer second. With a background in the biological sciences and degree in psychology, Peter knows how to make food that tastes great and keeps you lean and healthy.
Rachel Crass – Born into a weightlifting family, Rachel learned the value of fitness and nutrition early on. She has a B.S. in Biology from the University of Colorado and is a 4-time member of USA’s Jr. World Weightlifting Team. Jessica Gereau – Jessica has a BS in Kinesiology from San Francisco St. University. Before becoming a certified personal trainer she achieved a personal weight loss of 60+ lbs, and this has motivated her to help others obtain similar goals. She founded Gym Class Fitness Studio in the Bay Area as a place where people can learn what she learned along the way - that cookies are a part of life, and the hard way is the only way. Jessica currently carries certifications for ACSM and NASM.

Matthew Johnson – Is a nutritionist and exercise physiologist with a degree in nutritional sciences and toxicology and a certificate in dietetics. He is currently finishing his Doctorate at UC Berkeley in exercise physiology. Matthew consults with companies and athletes from local to international caliber. Jessica Kim – A clinical nutritionist and aspiring dietician, Jessica spends most of her time doing rounds as a nutritionist in a hospital setting. Her passion for writing and health translate into a unique clinical perspective on health topics. Jessica can be reached at jessicakim@mklaboratory.com
Nuwanee Kirihennedige – Is a nutritionist and dietician that works with athletes and health minded individuals on sports performance and weight loss. Jon North – Jon North had a football career cut short by injuries, but within two years of turning to Olympic Weightlifting as an outlet he has risen to a #4 National Ranking in the sport. He is an elite lifter and trainer for California Strength Academy and a candidate for both the National and World teams as well as the 2012 Olympics in London.
Glenn Pendlay - Glenn Pendlay has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and has published a number of papers in Endocrinology. After competing in the Junior World Powerlifting Championships in Moscow, Glenn was invited to study Olympic lifting under Alexander Medvedyev, and has since emerged as the top weightlifting coach in the U.S. In 1999, Wichita Falls Weightlifting was founded with Glenn as its Head Coach, and during this time Glenn produced over 90 national champions, over 20 medalists in international competition, and his athletes have broken as many as 10 American records in a single year.
He has coached successful athletes all the way from 10-year-old Schoolage National Champions, to a Senior World Team member and Pan American medalist, to a Masters World Champion and World Record holder. His teams also competed successfully for team championships, including six men’s collegiate national team titles in seven years, and a string of three Junior National team titles in a row! Glenn is now the head strength coach for the California Strength Academy in San Ramon, CA and is personally coaching three of the six lifters on the US Pan-Am Team.
Donald Shankle – Donny is two-time national champion Olympic style weightlifter from New Orleans. A veteran of the Iraq war, Donny is best known for rising in the sport of Olympic weightlifting in 18 short months to claim the title of national champion in the 105 kg weight class. David Spitz – David is the founder of California Strength Academy in San Ramon. This former high school football player was also a USA Junior National Team thrower in track and field. He is currently working towards his CSCS certification. Clients he has recently trained include Chris Cooper (just resigned with the Oakland Raiders), TJ Ward (second round 2009 / 2010 NFL Draft pick) and Cameron Colvin (former Oregon Ducks and San Francisco 49ers player).
