One of the first things I always recommend to my clients is to try to get involved in some sort of competition. It really does not matter the age of the client either. They can be 14, 26, 54, or 7…

i can’t tell you how badly i miss my days of playing competitive soccer and volleyball. i was in the best shape of my life by far, and it really helped being driven by the desire to win, and it helped having teammates to hold you accountable and motivate you to be better, people that you didn’t want to let down. i’ve thought about joining an adult soccer or volleyball league, and every once in a while i’ll pop into open gym or a pickup soccer game, and it always feels so good afterwards.

I see your point about competitive team sports being fun, motivating and challenging… I use to love team sports when i didn’t have a full time jog and weight training schedule.

With my limited time i don’t like feeling obligated to go to a practice or games based on a schedule… I would rather go on my own time…

This is one of the main reasons why i stopped taking spin classes. I hate the feeling of HAVING to be there at a certain time especially on the weekends… that makes me feel pressure which i don’t like…

I rather spend that free time with my husband and get my training done early in the day… It may sound silly but that’s why i don’t participate in team sports…
