I have done this type of training many times. Brutal and awesome. Nick Tomminello has a bunch of great combos to try. I have done them on light cardio days before or after. It is a tough 4 miun. I have tried goblet and strech banded squats with this format and it is incredible. Definitely worth a try. The link above is a tabata workout and there are several more here.

Tabata training is awesome. i don’t know of anything else that is that efficient with your time but gets similar results. doing that amount of work in only 4 minutes, with all the benefits, is pretty much unmatched.

do you recommend this over hiit cardio which last 20-25 min?  do  you really think you can get the same results in 4 min?? i know its super intense and you should not be able to last mroe then 4 min.  but are you getting the same results if your goal is fat loss?

I think it is a good complimentary routine to add  but I wouldn’t replace a cardio routine with just tabata. And correct me if I’m wrong it really isn’t for aerobic improvement but more as a way to ignite the fat burning capablility of your body.

Please try to post more articulated thoughts. Tons and tons of world champion wrestlers, boxers, mma fighters, cyclists, and other endurance athletes use tabata training a LOT. To say it is stupid is one of the most ignorant comments I have EVER heard. There is a reason most of the best athletes in the world use it from time to time. Sure, it stupid if you are looking to just get absolutely as strong as possible. But, for the other 99% of the world and world class athletes they choose to use it and they SEE RESULTS.

MIKE!!! thanks for pointing that out..

max.. that was such an ignorant comment! just because YOU dont use it does not make it stupid or pointless.. Many peopel can benefit from tabata in all areas.. athletes, people with  fat loss goal, people with time restrictions, peopel who want to avoid muscle loss due to cardio and soooooooooo much more.. before making CRAZY comments think about them first!!

OR!!! at least try to back your comment up

Haha I am glad we got that little fuss out of the way! Now, lets all get on to trying to incorporate these into our current regimens! They are great for doing with jumping rope as well (I just tried it this weekend).
