You know, I never had really thought too hard about making sure to get antioxidants in the morning to really help facilitate recovery. That is something I will have to add in as well. Pretty good idea right there.

Absolutely. I think this is why he put in each meal some fruit in there. He also included some fruit juice just in case someone didn’t have fruit available. At least that is what it looks like. However, each meal included the ACTUAL fruit, so I would assume it is best to have the real fruit for sure.

Reservatrol is a very powerful supplement! You can get some chewable reservatrols that have the antioxidant capacity equal to over 60 glasses of red wine.
-
Yes, 60. It helps protect against cellular aging and whatnot. Plus, they taste pretty darn good! My problem is that I will buy a bag of chewables and I will eat half the darn bag because they taste better than candy!
-
The wider the range of antioxidants the better. I have been reading a bit lately that some very high level elite athletes have been shying away from fruits though because it doesn;t spike insulin. It seems relatively new. I tihnk they would still want that protection against free radicals though in the form of antioxidants.

I am really not sure how else they would get it. Perhaps taking a fruit/vegetable supplement? That just has a high ORAC value and not so many sugars? Either way - I think fruits have been a staple of healthy individuals diets for a long time!

yeah, one of the problems with the resveratrol in wine is that you have to drink a bunch of alcohol and sugar with it. with a concentrated resveratrol supplement, as with any other supplement, you can get a much higher dose of the important compounds. we talked about this in the supplement series we ran a while back - whole foods vs. supplements.

This is what people DONT realize!! They want the benefits of reveratrol however they don’t take into account all the sugar and alcohol needed to be consumed to reap those benefits.. This is more detrimental to your health…
