great advice! it’s all about calories calories calories. many times the problem is not getting enough calories, whether they didn’t plan properly and didn’t pack enough food, or they just can’t seem to get enough calories in their mouth before they get full.

liquid calories are a great way to accomplish the goal. juices and milk are easy ways to squeeze in some extra calories without filling yourself up, and liquid fats are even better. adding olive oil or some other good fats to meals where they will fit is a great way to get a ton of calories and not have to worry about it killing you.

yeah, the funny thing about your list is if you look at the list of carb sources there you will see a lot of things that the general public consumes on a regular basis. these also happen to be the things that farmers use to fatten up cattle and farm animals. there is a very high correlation between eating lots of these types of carbs, and putting on weight. you’d think people would connect the dots there, but for some reason people still think of rice, corn, potatoes and things like breads and pastas as generally healthy things. for an athlete burning a lot of calories with a high metabolism sure, but for the casual, sedentary person they are surefire weight gainers.

Haha so true Pete!! That list is basically what Americans live on! Half of it is just lack of education, half of it is laziness haha. Either way - we can use a lot of general public ideas and use them as weight gaining ideas! Although, we still want the weight to be HEALTHY weight (aka mostly muscle).
