I can’t believe it took the FDA to find out about the ingredients used in these supplements by customers who experience fast and great results… THAT IS INSANE!!!

How did these companies get away wit this? How can someone in there right minds thinks its ok to sell steroids??

I think the FDA needs to get more involved.. that is soooo scary

Whats in it for the FDA??
Why are they not more strict?

Morally its WRONG!!!

“Customers of two particular companies in Idaho might have found recently that the dietary supplements[size= small] they were using were helping them achieve extraordinary results, and for good reason. Two dietary supplement manufacturing companies were just busted for selling products labeled as dietary supplements, but that in fact contained compounds that are actually anabolic steroids. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is in the process of taking these companies to federal court to administer justice, but the implications of this story are far greater than the general public might think.”

“The two companies—both internet-based sales companies operating out of Boise, Idaho—were found to be selling products that they were calling “dietary supplements.” Upon further inspection, the FDA discovered that the active ingredients contained in the supplements were anabolic steroids, and therefore did not fit the criteria for dietary supplements under the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (FDCA) and Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) (which the FDA uses to regulate the contents of what are considered dietary supplements).”

Unbelievable article Pete!!! What an incredible article topic. I really really like it. There have been numerous of these recently, AND, I have a feeling that it isn’;t even the HALF of it. AKA I think there are a lot more companies that do this exact same thing but hide it.

Ex: Jack3d is a supplement that WILL make you test positive if taken at an in competition test (Because of a stimulant).

the biggest problem in my opinion, is that the FDA is far too REACTIVE, and not PROACTIVE enough when it comes to supplements. they wait for the problem to happen instead of requiring products to be tested and prove that there won’t be any problems. part of it might be cost, or it might be a lack of manpower to enforce the regulations and keep the incredible amount of products being released every year under control. maybe they think it is easier to trust the industry and let the flood of products hit the market, and then simply deal with the small amount that prove to be harmful, but that isn’t necessarily the best way to go about protecting the public from harm.

i will say that the FDA catches a lot of flack from the nutrition industry, but they do prevent an incredible amount of bad things from happening and are probably taken for granted. this is a case where we only see/hear about the bad things without seeing the good, but that is the nature of the business. they are to blame for many of the harmful things people encounter on the market, but they are also responsible for the thousands of things they prevent from happening that no one knows about. really they are in between a rock and a hard place, but there are definitely things they should do differently in a perfect world.

Great point!! You brought up many scenarios to consider… In the long run i guess it makes sense…

You are so right though. They only talk about the bad stories rather then the good stories about the FDA…

It just stinks it has to be this way… its really scary.

It would take ALOT of work to test supplements but i still think its worth it… I am sure its a lot of money but think about how much it will save for medical insurance purposes, law suits, ect..
