“IGF-1 helps to increase metabolism in your cells, which leads to growth. It is extremely anabolic in nature, inducing cell division and growth in any type of cell (particularly muscle, bone, skin, the liver, kidney and lungs), as well as your nerves. It helps to stimulate protein synthesis and serves to promote growth in muscle strength and size.

“IGF-1 serves a very important role in healing as well. This does not only apply for healing wounds, but also to recovering from workouts and other stress or inflammation in the body”“

yes, deer antler velvet is actually quite common. you’d be surprised at the amount of supplements out there with this in the ingredients list on the label. it sounds crazy, but i doubt it would be in this many supplements if there wasn’t some sort of research behind it. i might just have to write an article on this one =)

that would be great pete..

and!! another good topic.. how supplement companies just add supplements (but only a small amount which has no effect) so they can put it on the label and make it a better selling point…

people fall for this all the time.. you see it in protein powders all the time

Wow, what a very educational article and well written! Seriously, I really enjoyed this article. I read quite a few articles done on the main stuff, but, I am glad you did one on this! I didn’t realize nutrition played such a vital role in its number either. I suppose it is just like any other hormone in that blood sugar, protein levels, etc, can effect it. Very good stuff though
