I agree.
Foam rolling hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only do it if I am super sore or tight. I have to admit and regret that I do not put much emphasis on stretching and foam rolling as I should. I have limited time in the gym and I rather hit the weights and burn as many calories as I can. I know that this is working against me however my goal is to find the time to implement this into my routine.
I am a full believer in stretching and myofascial release. It made all the difference in my workouts, recovery, and range of motion

FYI!!!
According to Runner’s World magazine, “Rolling improves circulation, which gets the body ready for a workout and helps it recover afterward. And because rolling breaks down knots that limit range of motion, it preps muscles for stretching. Using a foam roller can provide similar benefits as deep-tissue massage. By increasing flexibility and decreasing muscle tension, it can help prevent injury and improve performance.”

It is the best. I have been rolling for years now and it is fantastic. I admit the first couple times you do it it is like going to the little shop of horrors dentist. ..hurts so good. It goes great with mobility and stretching. I do it before everything else. You can use just about anything. I use tennis balls a foam roller. I have the stick, a golf ball a practice softball, pvc pipe. It is all good and you can improvise with just about anything.
omg!! I agree with you its like amazing pain lol… it hurts sooo bad but its good at the same time… its like getting a serious deep tissue massage.. When i roll my lower back or it ban i am literally CRYING!! I have a foam roller at home… god forbid i did it at the gym… people will think i was committing murder to myself lol… it REALLY HURTS!!!! ewwwwwwwwwww
But! It feels great after… i rather foal roll then stretch
