Sled dragging is one of my favorite [/size]high intensity workouts….Every single muscle group is recruited and on FIRE!!
If you want to burn fat, speed metabolism, and get your heart rate pumping give it a try.

You can also sub sled dragging with plate pushes.

Plate Pushes
·     Wrap a 45lb plate in a towel and place it on the floor.

·        Bend knees and lean forward
·        Fully extend arms with hands on 45-pound plate, which is flat on ground
·        Push plate using legs to drive the weight forward

Tips:
·        Stay as low as possible
·        Stay on balls of feet
·        Keep head neutral
·        Keep arms fully extended

Lol, Trying2befit did you read the article? It says in the hammer/axe section…

These exercises sound like a ton of fun. I’ve never tried tire flipping, hammering, sled dragging or rock climbing so I’ll have to give those a try. They should definitely be a change of pace from the usual gym routine.

I HAVE done me some Rocky boxing-style jump roping though and that is a lot harder than most people think. Maybe all those little girls out there have it right with the jump roping, haha!

Plate pushing is definitely another alternative you can use Llulko. If you have access I would recommend trying out a Prowler.

There’s something about the anatomical positioning of pushing weights over your head while in a bentover position that taxes your body beyond belief. It’s one of the best/hardest workouts you’ll ever experience in your life.

I used to work for a heavy machinery and construction company. One day during work I had to change the 6 tires on one of the huge Volvo dump trucks.  Trying to move those tires around is incredibly hard they are akward and really heavy.  It took me about 10 hours to change all the tires and move them to the recycler.

I thought that was a hard workout then I can’t imagine what it woudl be like now.

OMG… 10 hours? I would be dead.  I wonder what it would be like for you now…

Maybe it would actually be harder because it is a very different type of workout then you are used to… Your last job seemed to be more cardiovascular based then your current training…

Is that when you realized your passion for Olympic lifting?
