Wow!  I joined this site to gain knowledge and this is an interesting article.  I have always been taught that spot reduction is NOT possible but this gives me a bit of hope.  I am of the mentality that opening our minds to new ideas and ways of doing things never hurts.  I may give this a try at some point.  Thanks!

I was always taught and have believed the same old thing. Fat is reduced as a whole not in targeted areas. I am sure if this is true we will see a lot less love handles soon. !

“He uses a special protocol of fasted cardio with a weight vest, and keeps his trouble spot (his abs) warm by wearing a weight belt backwards. He does his cardio, and will throw sets of ab work in regular intervals throughout his cardio session.”

Hahah.. I use to laugh at people that wear those rubber belts/wraps around there abdomen..

Dr. Lowery study does make sense though…

“He observed that certain parts of his body were colder than others, and that those cooler parts of his body happened to be the places where he held the most fat.”

What are your thoughts about this method of spot reduction?? Would you be that girl/guy that wear the BELT???

the circulation theory makes a lot of sense. if more blood flow is reaching the area, the more fatty acids will be able to be mobilized.

i’ve always believed that spot reduction is a myth and that fat is reduced as a whole, but i might have to give this a try. if he is getting good results with his own body and clients using this, you could say the proof is in the pudding. someone should do a research study testing this method, or even the increased circulation theory in general.

Hm… Lowery is very reputable, and the science sounds like it would make sense, but this sounds really gimmicky either way. Wouldn’t this mean that those vibrating ab belts that you can buy from those infomercials could actually help to burn more fat if you used them?

Well, thank you!  But, yes, I do have a few spots I’d like to try this on.  Just not sure how exactly I would wrap them…hmmm.
If anyone gives this method a try, let me know how it goes!

LcVee!! Were do you need spot reduction?? In your thumb? lol

I would never try this in public! How embarrassing!
Maybe I would try it under really baggy clothing?

This is pretty strange though…

Iam VERY curious to know if this works… you would have to do it for a long time to see true spot reduction and i am NOT willing to try this unless they come out with a clothing line!!!

omg!! I am a genius!!!
