Great article…

“If you want to look like a sprinter, you should train like a sprinter. This applies to athletes and body types from any sport, and you can apply these ideas to anyone”

I love that look… feminine but strong and toned.

DO you really think light maintance weight training and Hitt is only required??

I always heard that you should squat heavy and aim to build muscle??
Plus track athletes are usually genetically gifted for running hence have a runners body??

If people just ran wouldn’t they be skinny fat??

What are your thoughts?  Is this more about genetics??

Endurance and long distance running might make you skinny fat, but that isn’t the type of running I am talking about here. Sprints and HIIT (High Intensity!) exercises build muscle because they are high intensity, and don’t result in that skinny fat appearance that you’ll find with a lot of long distance runners.

The other key is the Olympic lifting, which helps to increase explosiveness and speed, but also works every muscle in the body. You should definitely still squat and do other heavy exercises, but at the same time you don’t want to get too bulky, unless that is what you are going for.
