wow that sucks.. what a wonderful thing to look forward to (gaining weight as you age) lol

“Watch the scale! It may not be a drastic shift in your metabolic rate, but over the course of 5-10 years it may change drastically. If you have continued to eat the same amount of calories the last few years and still have gained 3+ pounds, it may be time to decrease your caloric intake. It really would not take much to lose those 3 lbs. again. It very well might just be a decrease of 50-100 calories per day.”

Really decrease calories?? do you really think this is the answer.. shouldnt you try to increase your metabolism by working out, and eating spesific  to help increase metabolsim..

What if someone already eats low calories.. you think its a good idea to decrease it more and cause them to go through starvation mode.. i am not talking about obese or over weight individuals.. i am talking about people that are already active and eating healthy however gaining some weight due to aging.

what about changing their workout routine or change up diet (ext carb cycle chaing macro nutrients ect)

I am not sure if decreasing calories is the answer

all other things being equal (including exercise, sleep, etc etc), yes you should consider decreasing calories. if all of those things are the same, but your metabolism is decreasing as it naturally does, you won’t be “increasing your metabolism” and eating the same number of calories is just going to result in more stored calories. it’s pretty simple logic.

now if you are going to increase your exercise, and completely change your diet, sure you can eat the same number of calories. but when it comes down to it, something needs to change cause your body is changing. the majority of people don’t want to do a ton of extra work in the weight room, and don’t want to eat smaller meals and much more frequently (which is what i assume you are recommending), so they should cut their portion sizes.
