“The National Dairy Council seems to think that it is constructive to post a mountain of “supporting research” that lends credibility to touting dairy as a health food and weight loss aid, but if you actually read through the immense amount of studies that they post, you will find that quite a bit of the research is pretty much pointless. It is indeed an awful lot of research on dairy, calcium, and the various conditions and effects associated with them, but it is very inconclusive and only a little of it actually supports the declaration that dairy is beneficial.”

“ Much of the research lumps dairy into a diet or program with actual intervention techniques, and then tries to associate the gains (or losses) seen in the results with the dairy part of the study, when in fact the results were most likely due to the other factors”

This angers me soooo much! I remember when i used to believe every study i read… I would truly believe in the study and par take in it… I have to yell at my mom all the time because she is one of those victims that falls for “really nice” advertisements…

Maybe its not American citizens the government needs to focus on…

They should really crack down on the FDA, dairy councils, and other large food distributors for advertising these crazy claims and studies… I just don’t get it… How can this be allowed… how can these corporations get away with these false studies…

yeah, the dairy council is just like any other food lobby in the country, looking out for the interests of their business and profits, and not necessarily wanting to hurt people, but not putting their well-being in front of the sales numbers.

after looking at all those studies, it is actually really crazy that they have it all posted there. if people weren’t too lazy to click through and actually read all of them, they would see that few of them show anything. if you dig even further, the studies get crazy and are seriously flawed. ugh…
