“Pasteurization process is applying high heat to milk for a short period of time, which essentially cooks it, which in turn kills all bacteria (whether they are the good or bad kind). “

“Since it hasn’t been flash-boiled, all of the good probiotic bacteria and over 60 functional enzymes, including Lactobacilli, remain intact and help our bodies digest lactose, while also aiding in overall digestion.”

“These products aren’t homogenized, the fats and protein are digested normally without the risk of smaller sized particles slipping into your bloodstream (thereby avoiding the allergy problems).”

GREAT ARTICLE!!! I never really thought there was a difference between organic milk and raw milk… I really like the idea of drinking raw milk instead… I highlighted some key points in the article that really stood out to me! It really makes since why so many people are lactose intolerant or dairy sensitive…

Can i still get low fat raw milk?? Or does it just come in whole?

it probably depends on the provider, but i know the place where i get my raw milk has whole and non-fat milk. there are websites where you can find a raw milk supplier near you and that can help you figure out the laws in your state regarding raw milk

the brand that i get at my local health food store is Claravale Farms:

http://claravaledairy.com/

they use Jersey breed cows, but they are located in CA, so i’m pretty sure it is limited to the West Coast. they have a message on their website saying that their brand isn’t being carried in Whole Foods anymore, so it sounds like the raw dairy haters are starting to get to Whole Foods. that makes me a sad panda…

it’s delicious. if you like the taste of regular milk, you’ll love raw milk. it tastes just like regular commercially farmed milk, but i think it is more rich and creamy. i’d say it is a little thicker but i haven’t had commercial milk in a long long time so i can’t really remember. if you just want to put it in your coffee/tea i honestly wouldn’t bother. if you’re going to drink a glass as a part of a meal or before bed, or use it in your oatmeal or something than it should be totally worth it, but if you are just using a little bit i doubt it would make much of a difference.

There are actually some sites that you can use to find a raw milk supplier. Try clicking here:

http://www.realmilk.com/where1.html

Raw milk will have an expiration date on it just like commercial milk, and I believe that raw milk doesn’t go rancid like commercial milk but instead starts to turn into sour cream when it “goes bad”.

you might want to be careful about referring to yourself as a guru, that’s like putting yourself up on a pedestal as an authority on a subject and can come off as sounding cocky… i don’t know many people that consider themselves a guru so much as other people referring to others as a guru due to their extensive knowledge on a subject.
