As a trainer, I’ve heard more than my fair share of excuses to miss a workout.

"My wife’s sick, so I have to stay home with the kids."

oooh, i love the tabata squat workout. i’ve heard it called the 10 minute workout and it’s the only one that’s ever made me puke. 20 seconds of alternating squats and dumbell military presses (only 15 lbs!) with 10 seconds of rest, continuously for 10 minutes. hardest workout i’ve ever done in my life…

Anyone else have any time/money saving workouts they like to do? I am also a big fan of running outside, and using any type of body-weight exercise is a great way to stay in shape without having to pay a ton in gym fees! It’s nice to get some fresh air every once in a while without having to go into a stuffy, stinky gym.

Plate Pushes are awesome and you don’t need a gym!  It’s a metabolic workout which last no more then 15-20 minutes

Directions:

-First warm up for 5 min

-Grab a 35 or 45 lb plate

-Put a towel under the plate so it won’t scratch the floor and it will slide easier

-Proceeded to do 20 sets of plate pushes across the room

-Take 30-45 second breaks in between each set

My heart was wayyyyyyyy up and I felt like I was going to explode!!!

I highly recommend trying this high intensity workout.
Make sure to adjust the weight of the plate or duration according to your fitness level.

Here is a link on how to do them

Good luck and let me know what you think…

It whipped me out…

Yeah! Plate pushes are awesome. That same technique is used by “The Prowler”, this type of weighted sled that you push in front of you. Those babies can makea grown man cry like a baby with a wet daiper

the prowler is brutal. i haven’t ever tried one but i can’t wait til i get an opportunity to. i’ve seen videos of this thing reducing the most hardcore lifters to piles of puddy. they can’t really explain why this particular position puts such a strain on the body, but having your arms over your head and pushing an object horizontally taxes the cardiovascular and respiration systems more than just about any other exercise you will find.
