good read…
regarding lack of calcium in soy— i’ve read that many soy milk manufacturers are adding calcium to their products, but studies show that it is not as healthy as naturally-occuring calcium.
is there really that much of a difference between added calcium to soy milk vs. the natural calcium found in good ‘ol cow’s milk?  any thoughts?

Soy does contain some estrogen-like compounds, but I would hardly say that soy is not good because of them. Many foods contain precursors of naturally-occuring hormones (including sex hormones), but by virtually all scientific accounts, the effects of estrogen-like compounds in soy are negligible. Don’t worry about developing gynocomastia (enlarged breast tissue), raging hormones or anything like that. The benefits of adding some soy to your diet, in my opinion, largely outweigh the risks.
