Nonfat Popcorn happens to be one snack that can help you sleep.
The
carbohydrates in nonfat popcorn help bring the amino acid tryptophan
into your brain, where it’s used to make a sleep-inducing
neurotransmitter called serotonin. Since eating a heavy meal within two
hours of bedtime can keep you awake, low-calorie popcorn (just 93
calories in three cups popped) is a great late-night snack.

Dried Tart Cherries
A
handful of dried cherries provides one of few food sources of
melatonin, which has been found to promote better sleep and lessen the
effects of jet lag. Plus, tart cherries are packed with age-fighting
antioxidants.

So if you need some good sleep try these, they are yummy and healthy for you…

I don’t know about eating carbs right before you go to bed… Our bodies process carbohydrates more efficiently in the AM than the PM, so I would think there are much better snacks you could eat than something sugary. Granted, popcorn doesn’t have very many calories at all, but it is still carb-based.

I know a lot of people drink milk before they sleep. So that could help.

Turkey is another food that helps you to sleep because of the tryptophen.
