The teen life faces the advent of many physical and
psychic modifications which cause trouble and turmoil for the youngsters. The
common condition of Acne is also initiated during this period. Ayurveda is
helpful in this condition because the problem is solved at the skin deep level.
Acne or Yauvan Pidika is caused the sebaceous gland found at the root of each
hair follicle. The sebum produced by these glands travels from the gland to the
hair follicle. The blockage in the follicle is the reason for inflamation which
is termed as acne. The black heads, white heads, nodules and papules caused can
be treated through Ayurveda.

The main causes for this condition is the imbalance in
the doshas especially the Vata and Kapha Dosha. Improper diet, unhygienic
habits, unhealthy vices and other internal factors such as sexual desires,
menstural cycle are the causes for this condition. Along with complete food,
Ayurveda recommends for regular usage of ayurvedic products which
contain aloe vera, almond, bergamot, sandalwood, rose, turmeric, Indian
blackberry, camphor, papaya, mustard, orange and so much more. Ayurveda
suggests lepanas (facial) and thailams for mukha kaanthi or for a glowing face.

Anyone with Yauvan pidika is recommended to take precautionary
measures such as daily bath.  Excercises
and activities are always recommended. Avoiding food that is cold and
incompatible. Oily, spicy or salty food is not recommended. A balanced diet
containing all the rasas is necessary. Expertise of a herbal healer is
recommended for planning a specific diet and lifestyle.

yes, i poor diet can affect acne. any dermatologist will tell you that. honestly, you could probably trace about 95% of ailments to dietary problems. the problem is that our healthy system treats symptoms instead of finding causes and preventing them.
and “Ayurvedic medicine” is traditional Indian medicine (dot, not feather). it’s considered “alternative”, but the funny thing is that it is thousands of years old, with evidence of it existing found in the Vedas, the Hindu equivalent of the Bible (and much older). Ayurvedic medicine may be as old as 2000 BC, while Hippocrates didn’t establish the Western version of medicine until around 400 BC.
Ayurveda is a whole body medicine and uses a lot of different methods, including herbal remedies, yoga, meditation, and even surgery (yes, surgery was performed as much as 3000 years ago).

Very interesting… what are your thoughts about this ayurveda medicine??

Who practices with it?? do you need a certification?

Also are there particular foods that cause acne… When i was younger everyone said chocolate caused acne?? I never believed it, i just thought it was hormonal and unpreventable..

there is a far larger body of evidence supporting Ayurvedic medicine than “modern western” medicine. i’m not saying that it is better, but it certainly shouldn’t be considered extreme or alternative when there are close to 2 billion people who use it in Asia and have used it for around 3 millenia.

as far as chocolate causing acne - i’d be inclined to call it an old wives tale, kinda like telling boys that masturbating causes them to go blind or kill kittens. real chocolate with high levels of cacao are one of the healthiest things you can eat (in moderation of course). commercially processed candy bars that are chock full of sugar and chemical additives on the other hand, might actually cause acne since you would be ingesting a bunch of toxins.
