I recently lost about 20lbs (I am 5’2” and now about 115lbs) but I still don’t really look like I want to look.  I already go to the gym 3-4 times a week, but mostly do cardio.  Is there anything else I can do to look better for summer?

Something you may want to seriously consider is to add in some weight training. Cardio is great for losing weight but sometimes weight training is needed to get that better look. I am not saying it will bulk you up, but, it will add definition which it sounds like you want…

Great thank you for that advice. I will add the weighlifting routine into my workouts. How many reps would you suggest I do a day for my arms and legs?

Thank you for your reply. What size weights do you think would be good to start with?
10llb, 15, 20?

Any weight that is going to push you on the last couple reps is the weight you want to use.

I would say when you first start to push your weights higher and higher be careful to not over do it, but after a while when you feel your body is getting use to the hardwork I would then start to make your attempts harder and harder as the workouts go on. So basically don’t strain yourself too much in the beggining, but towards the end of your program be straining quite a bit on your worksets.

Yep, use what I call a “challenge” weight. Use a weight that isn’t so heavy that you can’t do 10 properly, but, heavy enough of a weight where you can’t do 20 really easily. It depends on your level of experience as well. I can’t really give you any specific weights as I don’t know how much experience you have with any type of weight training.

My challenge weight on the squat is around 250lbs. It is really tough to gauge. Some days it is 225 other days it is 275lbs. IT all depends on my sleep, diet, and stress levels for that day. I am trying to get more consistent though! How about you MadMAx? Like 250kgs????

good man just keep working hard and your challenge weight will go higher and higher. I am currently squatting around 270 kilos deadlifting 280 kilos. But it took alot of time and hardwork to get to that point, so don’t get frustrated and just keep pushing and one day you will be where I am now hopefully.
