here’s an article we wrote a while back about quick workouts from home with no weights IIRC.

i am a huge fan of the deck of cards workout - all you need is a deck of cards and enough space to do some pushups, pull-ups, body squats and whatever 4th exercise you decide on, no weights necessary.

Resistance bands are great alternatives

not a single one of those trainers or bodybuilders knew what they were talking about. did you ask them to prove it or back it up with research, evidence, etc or did you just take their word for it?
i know you’re only a junior in high school so don’t take this the wrong way, i’m not trying to talk down to you or anything. you will be a lot better off and will learn a lot more if you question everything. demand proof and ask for some scientific explanation when it comes to things like this, and then you can laugh at people when they can’t back up what they are saying. if you can’t think for yourself you aren’t going to get very far.

Hahaha well actually someone in my family told me first but i didnt believe him until my uncles friend whose a body builder “confirmed it” but i looked into it more, basically what it comes down do it if u squat like an idiot with terrible form it may affect your growth plates but thats only if your like completely doing it wrong, but i have been squating lately and i actually hate it lol, but whatever i dont care if its going to make me stronger its just uncomfortable for me
That’s a funny term to define your workouts “uncomfortable”
I would never think to use that term…
When i am not enjoying my workout routine then i would say it’s uncomfortable… example (steady state boring cardio)
Maybe you have to rethink your training (without compromising your goal and intensity level)
You should be enjoying what you are doing and looking forward to it…

You can enjoy a workout even though it is uncomfortable. if your training properly your always going to have that point during a workout where you become tired or the weight becomes heavy and that’s when your workout becomes uncomfortable
I assume we are thinking of two different definitions.. Of course if you are training hard and intense you SHOULD feel tired and exerted towards the end of your workout however you should enjoy it and not feel as if it is a burden…
At Cal Strength we use it as way to not talking about pain. In weightlifting there is no such thing as pain just extreme discomfort. A lot of people take pain as im hurt. When people are hurt they dont train. It can be used in a phsycological way
a great workout is burpees. oh my gosh. they look easy, but, do 30 of them in a row and youll feel like throwing up. combine that with push ups and sit ups and youre set! that stuff is amazing. oh. that and lunges. haha i am thinking of things as i type.h
