Snacks that are filling..
I don’t really have “snacks” every time i eat i consider it a meal and balance it with protein carbs/fats
But here are some tips
I love filling up on fibrous veggies… they keep you full for a long time due to there volume and they are low in calories!!
Protein shakes or puddings .. my fav!! Add nut butter
Rice cakes with almond butter/nut butter
Fruits (they have a lot of fiber and taste freakin awesome!!
Greek yogurt (you can add fruits, nuts or protein powder)
Cottage cheese
i love laughing cow with raw veggies (35 calories a piece) or add in an omelet
Lara bars or low sugar protein bars… (I eat them only when i am in a rut)
Healthy fats keep you full for a longer time (slow release)
Lean protein meals (keep you satisfied for longer)
Avoid refined carbs/sugar… they cause bad cravings and raise your insulin and DONT KEEP YOU FULL for long…

my favorite snacks (all very filling):
- a couple handfuls of homemade trailmix - your favorite nuts, seeds, and dried fruits
- plain whole yogurt (no added sweeteners) with blueberries/raspberries, with some granola and flax/chia seeds
- peanut/almond butter with an apple or celery sticks
- shake with banana, ground flax seeds, peanut butter, chocolate whey powder, cinnamon, and almond/raw milk
- any piece of fruit like an orange, peach or apple pear and a protein bar such as a CLIF Builder’s Bar (20g protein)
- whole grain crackers (2-3+ grams of fiber per serving) with some good cheese, such as Wisconsin sharp cheddar, or even string cheese

Pete great list!!
Trail mix could add up to a lot of calories… I would try to stay away from dried fruit and eat whole fruits for a more filling factor… In a lot of cases trail mix could be trigger foods so make sure your know your self control to portions
Hahah cheese?? Sharp cheddar? Crackers: that’s more of a cheat meal for me that i can seem to control my self at just 1 or two pieces… LORI!!! Beware! It could be a danger zone lol… i do like laughing cow cheese… small portion and pretty satisfying
Then again it all depends on your goals, calories requirements, food preference and know your trigger foods! All in all this is a great list to keep handy

yes, cheese and crackers. what’s wrong with that? if you can get ~5 grams of fiber from some crackers, along with protein and fat from some good cheese, you are talking a very filling meal that won’t show up around your waistline.
and what on earth makes a pretzel a “healthy cheat snack”? pretzels are the “bagel” of snacks - for some reason, people have the perception that they are “healthy” (maybe it’s the dark brown color?), but there is nothing healthy about them, just like with bagels. they are pure processed carbohydrates, basically white bread, and usually covered with more salt than you want to have in a full meal, let alone a snack. what’s healthy about that? and since they have no fiber, they aren’t even filling. they aren’t better than chips at all, and should be thrown in that “garbage snack food” category.

Thanks for agreeing with me about pretzels!!
I don’t know why people think they are a healthy snack?
For me crackers and cheese are a cheat meal… portion control is hard and it’s not filling for me unless i have ALOT!! Its causes a trigger craving for me so I personally have to be careful…
I guess it’s a personal issue though… If you get a healthy high fiber cracker its not he worst thing but when i think about cheese i think about wine, chocolate and more cheese, wine, and chocolate.. This = disaster and that’s why i save it for my weekend cheats
yeay! exactly when you were younger!!! i think there are far better snacks then cheese sticks that are more filling.. I woudl eat that like its water!! veggies are more filling and more volume! unless you are a big baby and cant handle alot of food lol

I think its okay to have pretzels for snacks once in awhile, after all they are called snacks… :) But yes I agree they are not the most healthy like veggies , and peanut butter, or rice cakes, my favorite. :)
yeah on cheat days..
if you are still gaining weight or not reaching your goals then dont complain if you still plan on eating that cookie “once in a while”
Once in a while (on non cheat meals adds up)
If you are seeing progress then keep doing what you are doing.. but i doubt you are due to yoru post..

actually i have maintained my body weight and fitness goals with my cookie cheat days.. I don’t do it a lot but from time to time. Another great snack is cottage cheese with some fruit. I know it doesn’t sound appetizing but it is healthy.
if your (couple) of cheat days are working for you GREAT!!! most peopel have a goal to improve not maintain.. however if you are were you want to be then by all means enjoy!! planned cheat days are great and i do reccomend them however more then 1-2 times a week can be damaging to many people
