Read the article and let me know your thoughts…………………

What do you guys think about this article?? I admit that I am a victim of eating these types of foods.  It’s cheaper and more convenient…..

However I am questioning if it’s worth it… I think I may consider paying more money for quality food.  We put so much effort into working out and eating healthy, I really believe this can make a difference.

Think about it. Why are so many people getting cancer, heart disease, and other illness now more then ever…? It really makes me wonder, is it the processed, hormone and chemical foods we are ingesting???????????

I totally agree with this list.  It’s unfortunate that access to grass-fed meats and organic produce is limited and just not affordable for many people.
Another thing I try to avoid is highly processed ‘health’ foods.  Just because something is made with soy or a few healthy ingredients doesnt mean it’s free of preservatives.  I think eating foods closest to their natural state is best when possible.
BTW- this doesn’t neccesarily mean raw.  Some nutrients are compromized by cooking while others are better absorbed after cooking.  It depends what you’re eating.

I’ve been nervous about BPA, and when I read the article posted above, I gave up canned tomatoes.  I even thought about getting away from all canned goods…most contain BPA.   Then I read  this article which was surprising to me because BPA has been used for decades.  It has a long track record, and personally, I would think illnesses and side effects would be showing up since its introduction.  So…while I prefer fresh foods to canned, I’ll still use canned goods on occasion.   However, because of the acidic content,  I’ll avoid the tomatoes:)

yeah i think like a lot of chemicals, it may be ok in small doses.  the problem is, how many small doses are we getting each day- every day.  plus, how many different chemicals are we getting small doses of?  i feel like they must add up.
I did find one company that has some bpa-free cans though.  although i did read that even they dont have a good solution for tomatoes, because the bpa-free can is not approved for tomatoes.

Thanks for the post.  It’s very helpful because I use Eden products.
