What type of specific program would you put together for someone that is training to compete in martial arts tournaments?

I like “work-output” stuff.  5 minutes of everything.  I love tire flipping, sledge hammer, and sled/car pull. “Hurricanes” are on a treadmill at max are 12mph at 12% grade 45 sec on-30 sec off, 6-12 sets.  I had to work up to that. If no treadmill, 10-40 yard sprint with just enough time to turn around.  Hill sprints, steps, whatever you can find.  This is from “Training for Warriors”, most libraries carry it actually.  Great book.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRpPHlDUC0Y if you don’t have access to a gym, this Randy Couture workout is great.  There is no substiute for rollin’ though.  Change the time frame for your level, 5 min beg/white, 6 min inter/blue, 7 min adv/purple, etc…  I do run and keep it under 45 minutes to help with recovery for multiple matches and multiple divisions.  I always get in at least 2 divisions up to 4.  I am 37 and qualify for Open mens and masters.  Hopefully before i’m 40 i’ll get in an absolute!  Personal goal!
