Hey guys.. i have a question

I have been REALLY tired lately and not sure why.

I go to bed at 9:45 or 10pm every night and wake up at 5:20am..

I go to the gym for about an hour and train pretty intense 6 days a week..

During the day i am not very active because i work at a desk so why i am always so tired??

I get plenty of sleep and make up for it on the weekends..

What are your thoughts?? I eat really clean during the week so its not a sugar crash and take plety of vitamins
Vitamin b12
Multi
Fish oil
Cla
Vitamin D
Vitamin C

have you travelled anywhere lately?
has it been super cold out there?
it could be due to any number of reasons, and might not have anything to do with your daily habits. it helps to get plenty of sleep and to be eating right and getting the right nutrients, but there are other factors.

i’ve actually been feeling the same, but i had taken trips on consecutive weekends, including switching time zones on one of them, and it really threw me off for the whole week.

it could also be due to stress. have you been dealing with anything unusual at work or in your family life? it might be malaise or lethargy (essentially boredom) instead of tiredness. the two are very easy to confuse.

Have you lost or gained any significant amount of weight recently? If your body composition has changed, you need to change your diet accordingly, otherwise you might be getting the wrong amounts of calories. It could also just be the cold weather. I know when it’s cold outside I’m always way lazier and tired all the time ^_^

non of the above.. maybe boredom or lack of activity during the day because i sit at a computer desk….

it has not been that cold here in nj.. today is actually 50 degrees!! crazy!! i am not really stressed from anyting either.. i guess i am just in a little rut..

Nuwanee.. i may have lost about 1 or two pounds in the last month so not such a big deal..

i guess i am a summer person and like to see the light outside.. that could be it to.

why do we have this stupid day light savings?? its dumb!!! what is the point??

oh.. i am having my yearly check up so i will talk o my doctor about it.. i am sure its nothing.. just a rut

so i was thinking about this a little more and decided to look into it some more. i think you might be suffering from an actual ailment called SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder. this is a very common occurence, especially for people in the northern regions where there is less sunlight, and typically happens between late fall and early spring when the amount of sunlight diminishes by a large amount. sunlight (and increased vitamin D) help to increase your body’s production of the happy hormone, seratonin. without enough sunlight, your body doesn’t produce as much, and can cause a great deal of malaise, lethargy, lack of energy and even depression in the worst cases. this pretty much sounds like what you are experiencing.

some tips to beat this:
- take vitamin D
- get outside more
- get more sun
- open up blinds and shades to let more light into your house/office
- be more social!
- exercise more

haha you may have hit the nail on this one.. I HATE the cold winter seasons.. seriously hate it.. i hate that it gets darker early and i hate hate hate the cold.. i do lose alot of motivatin in the winter.

i was just in miami for a week.. granted i totally enjoyed myself with food and drinks and didnt work out (oops lol) i feel ten times better.. i am sure the sun and down time had something to do with it,. it will be interesting to see how i feel in the next couple months.  thanks for the tips!!

i will look into it.. i really think this is it.. i always lose motivation around this time

Do you have a lot more energy now?? I hope so! One thing I also wanted to mention is that some people DO require more than 7 hours of sleep or so. I know I need to get at least 8 every night to not feel “tired” around 3:30. Ya know?? It may have been the seasonal thing, but, I know when I hit my snooze button 5 times I am not getting enough sleep!

Now you’re talking - the California life is where it is at haha!! We could have some nice days at the beaches and ocean :) Maybe sipping on some margaritas. I notice that when I drink too much Starbucks that I really get tired faster too. It seems like I have to continually keep drinking it to avoid the “crash.” Does that make sense? Well, the problem with that is my energy fluctuates and it hurts the checkbook haha!
