It’s actually not possible to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time.

To lose fat you have to:
·         Do low or high intensity cardio (depending on your intensity, durations, and workout schedule)
·         Lower calories by eating a high protein, low carbohydrate and low fat diet
·         Lift weights and train hard.

To gain muscle you have to:
·         Do little or no cardio
·         Eat more calories by increasing your carbohydrate, fats and proteins
·         Lift weights and train HARD
They are two very different goals… You can’t do both at the same time… You can first gain muscle then try to lose fat…. But you can’t do both

Once you figure out your realistic goals, I will be more then happy to help you and give you advice on how to reach your goals

What are your stats?
What does your current diet look like?
What does your training routine look like?
What supplements are you taking?

Good luck

Hey Meatsack

What is your method/training routine for maintaining “a dry look at all times, even during a bulking stage”

30 mins of cardio a day; for myself I like to set the tread mil on a incline of 12% and a speed of 4.0 this is likea fast pace walk. This is going to shread fat if done consistantly. This type of cardio wont break down and muslce like regular runnnung would.

I don’t agree that it’s impossible to do both, it just takes
a lot of really hard work and discipline. The two most important things
would be to train hard and eat clean.
Instead of completely
cutting your carbs and fats, try limiting the calories from one group
in each meal. For example, try pairing your protein with only
carbohydrate (within reason), or only with fat (no pasta/bread/grains,
but use a good source of fat with a salad).
You can also look into carb cycling, which basically means only eating carbs on days you lift heavy/train hard, limiting carb intake on non-training days to before noon (the time your body can best process carbs), and getting the majority of your carbs using your pre-, peri- and post-workout nutrition.
HIIT is essential.
Give some of those a try and keep us posted on results!

I agree with pete, you def can gain muscle at the same time as lossing weight its very hard and it will take longer to do both t the same time. For myself personlly I like to try to do this becuase I like to keep a dry lean look but at the same time I dont want to lose any of my size.

It is almost impossible to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time.  That is why they call it a bulking phase and a cutting phase.

I agree that it takes extreme measures to do this and I believe those extremes measures include a form of steroids or growth hormone.  In order to gain muscle you have to eat more calories (bulking phase)… How is it possible to cut and bulk at the same time???

If it is at all possible then you have to be genetically gifted or EXTREMLY dedicated… it is very difficult.
I don’t believe an average person could do both at the same time… That is my take

It’s almost impossible to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time so figure out your goals first

TIPS:

Eat clean foods such as:

· Lean meat, lean turkey, chicken, fish egg whites, protein powders, Greek yogurts, cottage cheese,

· Oatmeal, sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinoa, Ezekiel bread, beans,

· Olive oil, coconut oil, avocado, raw nuts, flax seed, nut butters

· Fibrous vegetables at least 3-4 servings a day

· Fruits: Bananas, apples, berries, grape fruit, ect

Other Tips:
· Eat every 2-3 hours, (at least 6 meals a day

· Have your carbs in the morning and pre and post workout

· Carb cycle

· Drink a least a gallon of water a day

· Try not to mix fats and carbs in one meal

· Try to eat protein every meal

· Allow a cheat meal once a week to shock your body

· Avoid alcohol

· Supplement: multi vitamins, fish oil, bcaa, whey or casein protein,

· Look into pre and post supplements if you can afford it.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the sake of this argument…If you have experienced “bulking and cutting at the same time” or know someone who as successfully implemented this… PLEASE SHARE!!!

What hard work and dedication did you/they do to accomplish this?
Dazzle me!!, because I am still not convinced that this was none without illegal drugs or some miracle genetic makeup…
