ok,journal time from the english boy,i will try and keep this regular, you know like, wake up,brush my teeth, stub my toe on my kids toys, cut myself shaving, write my journal! something like that.
lift yesterday was shoulders/tri.
warm up was dancing around like a nutter to limp bizkit, fierce and spy and sister bliss!
second warm up was,5 sets handstand pushups.5 sets military press,5 sets press behind the neck,5 sets lateral raises. for triceps 5 sets skull crushers and 5 sets weighted dips.
that was it,sore in the triceps today and tight in the shoulders, next up is back,it will be hard.

Wow!! How long did that take you… and why did you call that you’re second warm up???

That looks like a hell of a shoulder and triceps workout… i don’t go crazy working or triceps… i try to work them through compound shoulder exercises… i usually single them out on sunday which i call my play day.. I do cardio and training back to back but i am sooooo tired after my hiit cardio that i have no energy to train intense… triceps and biceps are easy to train and i pretty much feel like i am just going though the motions because i am tired…

I will have to follow your workout one day though! It looks solid

the dancing around like a nutter isnt enough of a warm up laura, the pushups get the blood in the shoulder area and unfortunately into my head as well!
i dont do tri or bi every time, maybe every other time with shoulders and biceps or less.
i like to work the shoulders hardish as they are stubborn buggers!

so next up was back,i was going to write yesterday but cut myself shaving and couldnt be arsed!
the usual prancing around like a pissed up fairy on smack to start.the first tune that came up on the ipod was “halo” by machine head, that was fatal!
5 sets of pullovers with a tricep bar, slow and fairly heavy, like those.followed by 5 sets of wide grip pullups, first set was 10 reps, the rest 6,a bit shit that! then onto bent over barbell rows for 5 sets, hold at the top for a sec and fight the bar back down again.after that 6 sets of t-bar rows, love those buggers! to finish 2 sets of upsdie down pullups, could only do two as i was wankered by then, must have been the dancing!
more than enough for this little boy!
next up legs and arse! when though i have no bloody idea yet!

hahahaha, your journal cracks me up. the workouts sound good, but its the English lingo that really gets me. i lived with an English roommate for 2 years and i miss hearing him talk all the time. also, it sounds like you need a new razor and possibly another box to store children’s toys. =)

so,where am i? shit its friday already!
ok,laura, all my stuff is free weights,no machines, loads of plates, bars, bells,a verstaile bench, all that sort of crap.
being a bit of a thoughfull old sod i improvise with stuff.
so long as i can do it compound it gets done! oh yeah and a pullup bar as well, looks bloody ugly hanging off the wall but who gives a shit!
ok,so wednesday was legs, legs at home can be tricky,i have squats stands and they are good but cant go really heavy as no spotter and i dont want to get stuck at the bottom and have to shout to the old lady next door to come and resuce me!
warmed up to “halo” by machine head this time,10 minutes of robb flynn screaming at me and asking if i will stand beside him! twat!
5 sets of bulgarian split squats, nice and deep, followed by 4 sets of jeffersons, love those buggers although they make me want to puke! 6 sets sldl and thats it,for the little hams and arse and all that crap,5 sets of hamstring curls followe by 3 sets of step ups, those to finish really make me feel ill,i was breathing out of my arse by then and i admit,i chickened out at 3 sets, should have been 5!
thats it,kirk out!
i bought a new razor,it looks bloody lethal!
good lifting to you all but dont forget to eat before and right after, its the law!

morning, motivating workouts? dunno about that! i lift in the mornings after my first shift at work, mornings are best, cant do it late in the day, just doesnt feel the same.the only thing i can lift in the evenings are my eyelids!
only three times a week so the lifts have to be fairly strong if i can manage it which isnt always the case!
this morning is top bollocks and biceps, with your supersets, lets see what happens.

3x a week workouts? what’s your goal? i train 3-4 times a week too, but my goal is pretty much just to continue to look good naked, so i don’t freak out if i miss a workout here or there.

roughly the same for me pete,i just wanted and still want to be heavier so i do as much as possible for that.as an example, the only cardio i do is no bloody cardio! well, apart from prancing around like a nutter pre and during lifting!
yep,to look good naked so my lady doesnt loose interest and feck off with some other twat!
right,so where are we now?
oh,monday,ok,staurday was top bollocks and biceps,i kept with the superset malarky suggested to me by laura but this week it was flat bench. went like this, after waking up and looking at myself in the mirror and thinking, shit, who the hell is that ugly looking twat staring at me i got my gear out and went to it! 5x10 flat bench supersetted with 5x10 elevated pushups.5x10 flat flyes supersetted with 5 sets to failure diamond pushups. stone me i got a good pump from that,to finish 5 more set of pushups that were frankly, shit! after that biceps,5 sets of dumbell curls seated,i like seated because its harder to do.then 3 sets of barbell curls faily heavy but fighting the bar all the way down resisting the drop, that hurt! that was it,felt like dog toffee after and now its monday and my chest still hurts like a sod so it must have been good. might not lift tomorrow as i have a busy day but who gives a shit,i will lift when i can and hear is to looking good naked, well, looking fairly reasonable anyway!

hahaha, fair enough.

sounds like you are doing a pretty standard bodybuilding workout that will get you a good pump, but if you are looking to gain some weight i would focus on lifting heavy and getting an energy surplus (more calories in than out). how much weight are you looking to gain?
