I never thought it would take this long to get my Certification as a Personal Trainer. My test will be out this week, then I have to wait at least two weeks maybe less than that. Then I can get my name out there and start training

Jon I am still new to the field I am trying to learn as much as i can. As for me client’s I don’t have any yet. I have been a train since January 2012.  I am looking to start a gym in the future. As for me wanting to be a trainer, I have been a Certified nurses assistant I like to help people and would like to do it in another way. I believe helping people to better there lives is the best way to help my community.

The hardest thing I found when I started training clients is the art in KEEPING THEM. If you can figure this out then you are golden.

Its also about a personal connection… i had alot of clients that that i kept around because we developed a friendship bond ( i showed that i really cared)…

BUT most importantly you have to show progress/results, keep things interesting, and have them understand why they are doing certain things.

Keep educating yourself and don’t be a cookie cutter trainer… everyone is different, show an interest that you are setting up a plan that works for them!

Laura I agree 100 percent witht he personal connection, you deffinitly have to find that right balance between a friendship and a workout plan when dealing with clients.

Good for you! That is really awesome. Have you ever thought about any other certifications? What is your schooling background in?

Some other pretty decent certifications include:

ACE (American Council on Exercise)
NSCA- CPT (NAtional Strength and Conditioning Assocation - Certified Personal Trainer)
NSCA - CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist)
NASM
