MMA Training
you are referring to boxing bags when you say speed and heavy bag right?
are you just looking to improve striking power and speed or overall power and speed that can translate to lifts?
you sparring or just doing bagwork?
sorry for all the questions, this just sounds really interesting

The heavy bag is such an underused tool. Not only can it be used for striking but as well as practicing throws, takedowns, and ground n pound. Also make sure to use devices that really are sport specific to mma. Like it’s not just lifting weights, and hitting the bag! Purchase a medicine ball, ab roller, jump rope. It’ll all come together. :)

I wouldn’t say mma training. I did traing in bjj / catch for 1.5 yrs, and worked on my boxing for a year. I don’t consider myself an expert, but i hope my experiences can help. I’ve only had two ammy fights

I do have the medicine ball, jump rope. Kamikaze have you been doing MMA training? If so any other pointers you could give me? I could use any help in this area. Thanks ahead of time
IThe two aspects that were stressed to me the most was cardio and core strength. If you don’t have the “gas tank” to go a few rounds, all the techniques you learn are useless. A good core allows one to not only strike harder, absorb blows, and it makes you stronger during a grappling session.
One thing I’ve noticed about is that you kinda go back to basics in order to develop functional strength. Pullup/ Dip Bars, Kettle Bells, Elasic bands. Sledgehammers and tires (kinda ol school strong man stuff). I hope this helps.
I used the jump rope as a warm up for about 12 - 15 mins. Every 3 mins, change the direction you swing the jump rope, and for the last 6 mins, make sure to really push it. :)
You can do push up on the medicine ball (place hand on the ground, and one on the ball. Then switch hands every time you do a pushup) You can incorporate the ball into your situps. Also we practiced landing on the medicine ball against our bodies to simulate the feeling of a blow to the body as well. Does that help?
