11-10
morning
back squats- up to 120kgx5
power snatch- up to 100kg
power clean + jerk- up to 140kg
evening
snatch- up to 120,125,130kgx2x1,135kgx2x1, 110kgx2
back squats- up to 160kgx3x5

I felt good at both sessions today. I took a full week off before my trip to the Olympic Training Center, then went out there and did a bunch of remedial type of exercises. So, I Am still getting back into the maximal lifting here. Usually it is pretty much maxing every lift every session (I can’t stop myself from maxing usuall no matter how many times I tell myself to just go to 85 or 90%). Oh well, I just wanna lift big weights anyway!!!

Wow, 130/160, sounds like you’re a pretty strong man. What are you training for?

Do you work with a coach or at a training facility or is this just a hobby for you?

noon
Power Snatch- up to 115kgx4x1, 120kgx1
Power Clean- up to 140kgx2x1

I Was supposed to be completely off today… But I just couldn’t stop myself.. and saw no legitimate reason to. so, I pushed forward.

11-12
evening
clean/jerk- up to 160kg
snatch- up to 110kg

Was pretty wrecked today after the long week so I backed off a bit and hit some solid singles there. I also got asked to do about 8 hours of bullying/character speaking back in my hometown today (was a very big honor for me), which was a long time standing on my feet. It was solid work given the circumstances, and I’ll be ready to go tomorrow with some of the high school kids here!!

Glenn- it is usually quite a bit heavier in the mornings, but after my 2+ weeks of lighter training (1 week off followed by 1 week at OTC), I was progressing back into it this week up until tomorrow where it’ll resume as normal.

I usually don’t go maximal in the mornings, but I do usually hit about 115/145 or so, and a decently heavy squat for me. With all my school and work right now I’ve really been using it as a primer/tune up for the evening session. I just figure with my circumstances of all my work/school it might be best to take a different approach to the morning workout since taking a nap/10 hours of sleep a night isn’t possible with my financial situation/school.

With that being said, I will ramp it up until I come to visit!

Putting up those kinds of numbers with no coaching, I would love to see what Glenn could do with you if he got his hands on you. What weight class are you in?

evening
Clean/Jerk- up to 160kg

I was back home so I didn’t have anything else going on, which was really nice for a change. The 190x5 BS set felt pretty tough and I really didn’t plan on lifting again. But, I felt like a girl for not doing 200 (I think I Was pretty fatigued in the 2nd session), so I had to go back and do it in the 3rd session.

Jared whats up bro I have been following your workouts and I like what I see, damn bro you are hitting some big numbers.  I am excited to see you hit even bigger numbres down hear with me at California strength though.  You do alot of volume, do you ever just work up to your best single?  do you ever do singles max?  O by the way whats stopping you from moving out hear for good?  I keep having people come to my gym and talk about how they want to hit big numbers and go far in this sport, but they always have a list of reasons why they cant fully commit to this sport full time or why they cant move down and train with me.  I hear it everyday I just hope you are different and you can make it happen.  I dropped out of college the same day I got the job offer from cal strength to train full time, the next day I got a uhal and moved down and started training with Donny shankle asap.  I went form not even top twenty to number one in a year and a half.  I am not saying you should drop out of school but I am saying that school is not going anywhere, I will go back, but just not now, I have shit to take care of in this sport.  I have a small window in this sport of weightlifting to make an Olympic team and I am going to give it my all, I dont want to look back 20 years from now and regret not just going for it!  you know what fuck it, yea I am saying dropp out of school, I am saying dropp whatever you are doing in your life and move down hear and train to be the best.  It’s funny to me how everybody wants to do it all and go to the Olympics. wtf.  I want to go to school, get a good job, make alot of money, go to france for a few months, go skiiing, find a girl, maybe do some rock climbing, O and I want to be really good at weightlifting and go to the olympics and make the world and Pan Am team.  That person is lost, confused and just fucked up.  If you want to do weightlifting for fun or just ass a hobby then great, if you want to be the best and make a run at these Olympics then lets do it, me and you.  Train everyday all day, get freaky strong and win win win.  sorry bro I dont mean to go off like this, lol I just keeping typing!  I am kinda just thinking out loud, I am looking forward in you coming down to train, if you are motivated like I am then we are going to be a very good match, I am a crazy about being the best and I will do whatever it takes to be the best, will you?   lol hahaha that sounded like a damn comercial.  sorry that was cheesy.  cheesy but true.  Ok bro I am done boaring you, keep posting on hear I am watching from a far.  2012

Thanks man! I appreciate it. The last week and a half have really been working it back up after a couple forced light(er) weeks. I took a week off before visiting the Olympic Training Center.. well, I still lifted heavy 2 days (cause I couldn’t keep out). It was the first light week I had really taken in about 8+ months? Well, ever since I began weightlifting anyway. It was weird. Then at the OTC I never really went heavy, it was a lot of remedial stuff. So I have been working back into it. Normally I do go up to my best single every time I lift. It’s just the last couple weeks have been out of whack. Sometimes I’ll tell myself not to max on a certain day if I don’t feel great… but as soon as I get going I always end up maxing. I usually can’t stop myself from maxing.
-
No matter what in January I am moving somewhere to train, I’ve just been visiting some different places trying to find the best fit. I have a great feeling about California Strength, which is why I’m so excited to visit. I know it’s impossible without the right atmosphere and coaching… Which it’s been proven Cali Strength obviously has. Well, I haven’t seen the atmosphere but 3/8 guys on the Pan Am team this year from Cali Strength is a pretty good sign of coaching anyway. and I’m sure with your fiery attitude the atmosphere is pretty damn good.
-
I am all in with weightlifting. You have the same mindset I do, in it to f’in win it. This shit ain’t easy, might not be fun, might suck some days, but there’s not a single other thing on the planet I’d rather be doing.
-
See ya in a couple days man, it’ll be friday, and I hear friday’s the big time war day? haha every session is a war… I just know friday’s are usually pretty intense.
-
Holy crap. Did I just type all that? Damn, I am just as long winded as you! It’s all good, we have something in common already haha!

The training has been going decent. I have been babying my shoulder a bit since I tweaked it out there, but it’s been consistent training at least. I answered these q’s on your journal accidentally haha but I should know in a week or 2. I am definitely excited about California though. I had a fricken blast out there and think some huge things could happen out there for sure. haha! The mullet says what up homey? It’s just chillin like usual, gotta get it freshened up tomorrow though.

Zombies!! Those things are haunting my dreams. level 18? Dang. I have only got to level 13 since I left. Although on almost every game I am the last one running around like crazy haha. 18 would be sweet though.

I looked.. the highest level is level 72. 2 people did that. The highest level any 4 people have ever made is 70. Only like a handful of people have made it even over like 60 I think though. That is crazy stuff. It would literally take like 18 hours to complete a game like that.

I will have to hit you up the next time I play and we can join the same session together and we’ll be back murdering zombies in no time. After the american open I am sure we’d be able to find a few nights to kill em.
