Who does everyone have for a finals matchup? I know the popular matchup prediction is OKC Thunder vs. Miami Heat! But, I think the Spurs might just creep up right in there and upset the Thunder if Westbrook keeps chucking the rock up 30 times a game. Let Durant take the game over! He is a pure scorer, dang. Those Spurs are DANGEROUS. But, with that being said, I am picking Thunder vs. Heat,  and, the Heat to win it in Game 7.

the two wildcards for me this year are James Harden and Derrick Rose. if either/both were healthy, i might pick their teams to be in the finals.

as much as everyone wants Durant to be the closer on the Thunder, he is still pretty inconsistent, and regardless, Harden is their most valuable player in the 4th quarter. while he might not be the closer, he is the playmaker and distributor and makes that team go in the final quarter. case in point, the lakers coming back from 9 or 11 down in the 4th the other day. with Harden, I don’t think it matters that Kobe was playing like he was on fire in NBA Jam.

the Bulls still have the best record in the league without Rose this year cause they are a ridiculously deep and well-coached team, but without their star player i don’t think they can go all the way to the finals. the Heat suck on the road and i don’t think they could’ve beaten a fully loaded bulls team this year, but without Rose, i’m afraid they take it. i don’t hate the Heat like most people do (i actually hate the Lakers, even though i’m from LA), but i would’ve picked the Bulls to win if they had Rose.
if Harden gets healthy enough to be effective i find it hard not to go with Thunder vs. Heat. the Spurs could surprise everyone, and they’ve been playing really well lately and have a lot more young talent than in previous years, but i just don’t think anyone can stop the Thunder if they are healthy. and same in the East, without Rose who is going to beat the Big 3?

Being from Chicago and I keep thinking about Jordan and Da Bulls in the 90’s I would like to see my Bulls in the finals versus whoever. As Pete said, if Rose is healthy I think the Bulls would be a load for anyone to deal with, they do have the best record in the league…just saying.

yeah that year the Warriors made the playoffs was awesome… the We Believe Team. that was some of the most exciting basketball i’ve seen from any team in any year. it’s too bad that the Warriors couldn’t build on it and stink again, but they have a lot of good young talent so maybe they’ll be back sooner rather than later. they have such a good fan base; for their sake i certainly hope so!

I agree on some points with you Pete yet disagree with you on some points. Durantula wont he scoring title this year and IS their clutch player..Case in point….GAME 1!!!!!!!!!!  While I Do agree that HARDEN is the true distributor for everyone else (Westbrook should play as a guard), Durantula is a PURE SCORER!!!! PURE SHOOTER. Just unbelievably talented and level headed. Heck, Harden doesn’t even start!!!! He si the 6th man. Haha, I love Harden don’t get me wrong. I really do. His efficiency is unbelievable. Shoots like 6 times a game and always ends up with double digits in points.

D Rose once again proved that he can’t handle the physical nature of the NBA and got hurt for the 36th time this year…Big toe. Then foot/ankle. Then groin. Then low back. So 4 SEPARATE injuries, now, a fricken torn ACL. That makes 5. Did he even play in any games this year? Seriously? They distribute the ball 10x better without him anyway. D Rose just can’t handle the big boy league.

Ok so I spoke too soon, Rose is out for the playoffs and I see them still getting to the Eatern Finals but without Rose I think the Heat will be too much. Darn! It’s a toss up for me right now who wins it all, a lot of teams are looking good.
