Alright, this is a temporary routine as I am not working right now.
I wake up and do breakfast and coffee for myself and my wife.  Get the kids up and get their breakfasts.  Take the youngest to preschool and head to the gym.
I am currently on a 3 day lift (M/W/F) and 2 days Cardio (T/TH).
I cook my dinner meals in the afternoon and have them ready for the family that night. Generally leftovers for lunch or coldcuts, or a small meal midday.  We do shopping as needed, usually saturday or sunday is the big day and pick up milk, etc throughout the week.

Once I get back to work.  Another month or so, I will have to change my routine, but I will adjust accordingly once I am there.

I am also drinkin on average 1 1/2 gallons of water.

How often do you cook your food in bulk and how long does it last you?

I cook in bulk twice a week.  I cook chicken to last me 5 days and  veggies to last me 3-4 days??

Is that pushing it??

Tips for Traveling with Food
by: By Shannon Petralito

I wanted to offer some tips & tricks that I have learned over the past couple of years in regards to traveling with food when I am preparing for a show.

I have certainly come a long way in the past few years in regards to preparing & packing my food as a figure athlete. I have to laugh because last year when I went to Miami I actually traveled with all of my chicken in one glass container, all of my sweet potato in another and veggies in another. I brought a scale with me, you could imagine the airport security when they pulled a scale out of my bag in Miami airport…lol. Oh boy have

I come a long way since then. It can be a little intimidating & frustrating when you are not familiar with traveling with your food. It’s time consuming preparing it no matter what but these are some tips that I have found helpful thanks to my fellow competitors. Hope you find them useful too!

- Prepare your food a few days before you leave.

- Measure all portions ahead of time & separate your meals according to number of the meal.

- Put each meal in a baggie (I use Ecozip Sandwich bags) they are multi-storage bags..they are awesome!

-Label bags MEAL 1, MEAL 2 Ect…. so you can just grab them.
I freeze all meals. That way they can be used as ice in the cooler and they stay fresh.

-Make sure your hotel has a fridge & microwave!

-Also, thanks to a friend of mine I learned a great little tip to bring a mini George Foreman grill to heat my meat! Love this idea!!!!

-I personally do not freeze my asparagus, I have a mini microwave steamer that I bring with me so it is fresh & not soggy. I got mine from the pampered chef, it’s great!

-Don’t forget to get to drink your water! It’s easy to forget when your traveling, especially on a plane!

-Last but not least I travel with my meals in a (6 Pack Fitness) cooler, this was a great investment! I know other girls who use mini travel suitcases too.

Well, I hope that these tips were helpful as they are very useful to me! I am glad that I don’t travel with heavy glass containers anymore, lol. Have a happy & healthy day!

Yep, sunday is my COOK FOR THE WEEK DAY. I go grocery shopping for about 2 hours, then cook for about 3-4 hours. It is every single lunch meal of the week and some supper meals as well. Obviously snacks as well. It really saves me a ton of time. This is my main set up that I use to allow me to do what I do.

I do the same!

I cook Saturday and Sunday to slit up my time in the chicken. I cook food for the week for my fiancé and me.

How long does your food last mike?

I keep my food for 4-5 days.

I cook:

Chicken
Turkey
Broccoli slaw with mushrooms (great for stir fries
Roasted veggies
Butter nut squash
Sweet potatoes
Brown rice, or other grains
Protein pudding snack
Fresh tomato sauce

I cook my breakfast and fish for dinner fresh every day

I basically cook this every week. I might change it up by using different spices, veggies, grains, homemade marinades ect

If my fiancé is lucky i will make him a creative chicken dish, turkey meat loaf and over fun dishes!

What does your weekly prep look like??
