very inspirational…as a trainer, what would you recommend to beginners seeking ways to improve their overall endurance?
are there any specific exercises that would help zero-in on that goal?

There are a few things you can do to increase your endurance.

You can include:

Circuit style training; This is when different exercises are performed one after another with little or no rest between each of the exercises. You can set a number of reps or a specific amount of time for the duration of each exercise.

High intensity interval training;  this type of endurance training is when you alternate between intervals of high-intensity and low-intensity exercises, For example sprint as fast as you can for 1 minute and then walk for one minute.  Repeat this 10 times for a total of 20 min, (remember to warm up for about 5-10 min and cool down for about 5-10 min)

Low intensity cardio; examples: walking, jogging, biking, swimming ect. at a steady low intensity pace for a long period of time (30-60 min)

Polymeric training, examples: jump squats, jumping lunges, jump box squats, jumping jacks, burppies, squat thrust, mountain climber (you could even include these exercise in between sets to get your heart rate up)

Make every workout intense!!!  If it gets to easy, either increase the weight, number of reps, change up your routine frequently, and change up the plain of motion

Just make every workout count!!!!!!!!!

I hope some of these examples help
