I am just curious - how strict is everyones diet here on Muscle Dog? I Find myself wavering a lot. Some weeks I Am super strict and other weeks I am sort of a loose cannon eating whatever I can get my hands on. What do you guys do to help be more consistent with your diet? Doyou guys eat pretty clean? If you do, why do you? If you don’t, why not? Is it because of sports, looks, bodyweight?

I have a horrible diet not going to lie but i actually been working on it lately. I started bringing food to work insted of eating out. Trade sodas for juice or something better. Its healthier for you and you save money do its a win win.

For the past two weeks I have been eating super clean and WOW, I have literally dropped 4lbs in 2 weeks. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot but normally my weight doesn’t fluctuate THAT much. Man, I am loving it though. I feel way leaner already. Kinda crazy.
I think it is a mix of both. Im in the gym training at 9am and stay in the gym pretty much until 8pm. So i run to get something to eat during the time and the easiest is usually fast food. But im sure there are healthier places i can go too. Any suggestions?
Also i have to keep my weight up for weightlifting and i have a hard time keeping my weight up. So its important for me to get in a lot of calories if im going to keep my weight up for training.

I am just trying to stay as lean as possible. I am not necessarily trying to cut weight or anything like that. I just want to look a lot better with my shirt off haha. Don’t laugh, it just feels good to look better. I feel a lot healthier and more athletic also when I am lighter, ya know?

Both are so true you feel better , your skin is clearer, and looking better!!? I am sorry but there is nothing wrong with that. I see guys my age and they look as though they have one foot in the grave. Being super strict isn’t as important as being consciece and consistant with what you put in your body. Some may argue but having a drink or an indulgent meal is worth it…you git to live a little too. What we do is already freaky to most people but it is ok to be a bit human . When I and a buddy take our kids to the beach we stop at 2 donut places to see which one is better…krispy kreme or a britts!!! I don’t eat a whole lot of donuts ever but I enjoy it when we go! People want to blame a lot on foods but our pathetic day to day immobility is what is killing people and kids….People ask me what I eat I don’t condemn people for their choices but its funny how they always feel guilty around me and start confessing their dietary and fitness sins to me. I’m sure you have had the same experiences.?
I absolutely have. People I think genuinely WANT to be healthy - but -they see food as an avenue to feel good. I notice a lot of binge eating and denial when it comes to individuals diets. Ya know? They say they NEVER eat anything - clainm only eating 2 small meals a day - yet they’ll be 70lbs overweight. I will then catch them (or hear about them) having a huge binge eating session after a stressful day of over 2,000 calories a meal.

Yeah, i see that a lot. People aren’t really aware of how much they are eating at those TWO meals. I have said it so many times but if you can manage your food you have 99% of the battle won.
You know - if someone was COMPLETELY able to handle their diet they have the battle completely won in my opinion. WHy? Because if they have THAT discipline they will have the discipline and the smarts to be able to figure out everything else! It is just that discipline to figure it all out and to tell yourself NO that gets people to the top.
Ha! Great point. The top is something that VERY few are able to get to because it takes a unique human being and individual to be able to get there. The amount of sacrifice to get there is jsut beyond comprehension for most people. Most people will call that person “obsessed” and “crazy.” I usually just call them the best…
