Sweet Potatos Good or Bad?
If you don’t have blood sugar issues they are a great snack, yes. Sweet potatoes are high in fiber (especially the skin!), they are great sources of Vitamin A, beta-carotene, and potassium, and even a large sweet potato usually won’t have more than a measley 150 calories. That doesn’t even touch on the fact that they are delicious because they are so sweet.
It’s a bit of a misnomer that they have a better Glycemic Index and Load than regular potatoes. Most varieties have a Glycemic Load between 16-20, and “low Glycemic” is conidered 10 and under so it’s not true. But they are packed with a ton of great nutrients and anti-oxidants for the amount of calories so they are a great food to implement into any diet regardless of the carb count.

I LOVE sweet potatos.
I cut them in cubes and bake them like french fries!!
-Pre heat oven to 375 and bake for 45-50 min
-Place cubbed sweet potato on foil
-Spray with extra olive oil pam
-Add Sea salt and pepper.
-Bake for 45-50 min
Have you ever tried butter nut squash? The GI index is higher however it has less calories. When you bake them they taste like sweet potatos… they are delicious..
