once a week we pick a body part and do a marathon session this is a full tilt 45 minute session that includes no breaks at all. As a matter of fact last week we completed one of the most trecherouse shulder work out I have ever experienced in that 45 minute time frame we each completed a grand total of 54380 lbs of work.
what we did is fall back on classic circuit training rotating through 9 stations 8 sets on each with everything from minimal to maximal weight and the results were unbelievable Haus one of my big boys had so much lactic acid built up he could not even scratch his head. Be inventive try movements that are natural and do not add to much joint stress and have fun try this and let me know what you think.
Thanks
Butch

what’s the goal when you guys do these workouts? you used “to break the cycle” in the title, does that mean that you guys just do it for a change of pace or are you specifically trying to build muscle for a particular muscle system? i was also curious as to how this fits in with your usual training schedule.

we do this as it says to break the cycle once per week we do a different marathon work out on a specific body part so you only repeat every 5th week it really goes against the laws of power but it gives us a chance to lift with lighter weights and increase the reps which lately we have determined that adding this function to our routine has helped us break some barrier’s Just by doing something different.
Thanks

do you guys ever find that it has a detrimental effect on your other workouts? for example, after a day of destroying your shoulders do you find that you don’t have as good a workout the next day?

These marathon workouts are great. Setting up 5-6 different stations for a specific muscle group, but only breaking for a few seconds in between. Litterally, the only break you should get is for however long it takes you to walk from one station to the next. We usually like to go five rounds on our marathon routines. We can usually fit in an hours worth of lifting into a half an hour or less, and I promise you, you get so much more out of this workout style. The pump you get is incredible.
