Lets talk recovery, is the amount of recovery different depending what sport you play or what your fitness goals are?    Do you think recovery is used to much or to little?

i think recovery is ignored for the most part. beginner lifters find their generic program from their men’s health magazine, maybe some crash diet, buy some supplements and then go to town. most of them never put any thought into recovery, and many of them barely even take the time to warm up before lifting. while this is fine for the most part for the  weekend warrior who is just looking to tone things up, maybe gain a little muscle and lean out, but really isn’t going to take their training seriously, it isn’t okay for those that want to get more serious but think that just increasing the intensity and frequency of their training sessions is going to yield better results without adding in anything else.

I think people think about recovery too much. Just thinking about recovery is not going to help you recover. It will only add to your stress level

The real people that need to worry about recovering are true athletes. Professional athletes and amateur athletes aspiring to be professional. Most general exercisers really don’t even need to even think about it.
