What does everyone think the best lift for football players are? I would say the power clean without a doubt. The triple extension, full on aggressive nature of the lift best mimmicks running and tackling in my opinion. Also in changing directions. Although squatting cna never hurt. Remember, a lot of people say snatch but you have to think of the cost/benefit factor of how long it takes to actually teach them the lift- at which point hard training is sacrificed in that time wasted trying to learn the movement.

i’d agree with the clean. the transfer of power from the ground up really translates over to driving through tackles and explosive movements off the line of scrimmage.

I just think the saddest thing is that the bench press is the most trained lift for every single sport. It doesn’t matter what it is but the bench press will always be at the toip of the list for all of the lifts. it is sad to see high school coaches pusdhing it so hard when it obviously doesn’t have nearly the carryover that sometihng like a power clean or back squat have.
