I am running in my first marathon next month. I am new to this, so do you have any tips?

how long have u been training for it? is it a full marathon.

I think I will train for a half marathon first and see if I like it before I decide to train for the NYC marathon. 
 
Do you have any good training routines or resources 
for beginners??
 
I also want to prevent losing muscle as much as possible.
