Well good morning muscle dog people!   It’s a
brand new week and that means there is much weightlifting to be done.
More snatch and clean and jerk, more squats, more coach, more food and more
fun, because weightlifting is fun, or it can be.  This weekend’s was a
great recovery weekend for me, lots of rest, swimming, movies, and food, so I
feel like I will be very strong this week!  Coach Glenn Pendlay will be
happier than a kid in a candy shop.  Damn I love coffee, I am drinking a
big cup right now and I feel like Ali in his prime!  I love drinking
coffee and having a caravan while listing to Michael Savage between training, that’s
what I am looking forward on doing today.  “Caravan”, well that
code for something but I can’t let the weightlifting world know all my
secrets!!!!  I wish I had a meet coming up, the next one is not tell October
and we are hosting it hear at California strength baby!  There is a
weightlifting meet in September called the Atlas open in sacramento but I have
boycotted that meet.  When I was a “free agent”   and I
needed a coach and a club to train at I called this “guy” and asked
him if I could join his small team.  Now at this point I was still a
little new to the sport, but I was already top ten in the country, placing well
at national meets and making big gains in a little amount of time.  He
told me that I would half to pay him close to a grand a month and that he will
think about taking me in, I never heard back from him again, thanks Rob for
calling me back.   Here is a young kid that just needs a place to train
and is looking for a coach so they both can go to the top of the ranking’s and
this guy wants to charge kids that kind of money to join his club!  Are
you out of your mind!  Trust me I am fine but I feel bad for the young bucks.  Paul Doherty at Hassle free and us here
at California strength take kids in everyday and train them and now we have a
bad ass team and the kids love competing and have dreams of making the Olympics
becuase of California strength and guys like Paul Doherty that give instead of
take.  Well that’s it, I am sorry for getting off track again, my ADD
keeps kicking in this morning.   I just want to see this sport grow, and
clubs like Atlas seem to not understand what it takes for this sport to grow.
The great thing is that two weeks after Atlas never called me back I got a
little call from the most bad ass gym, with the most bad ass athletes and bad
ass coaches Dave Spitz and Coach Glenn Pendlay  asked me to come down for
try outs because they had a spot open, hahaha funny how life works out, now I
bleed California strength,  they took me in when I had nobody and I am
forever great full.   California strength for
President!     `

Wow, that does sound like a ripoff, I couldn’t imagine paying $1000 for a gym membership. Aren’t you guys strapped as professional athletes anyways since you focus on training and don’t have time for a normal job?

Well It’s funny how this guy wanted me to pay him, when it should go the other way around.  At California strength the weightlifters like myself are being paid to lift weights, this guy makes me laugh.  I would be representing him as a coach and his club and that would draw more attention to his gym and bring more people in to train and more athletes to compete and GROW his club!  It seems like easy buisness to me, but maybe I am wrong.  Hey pete, I was just thinking to myself that I NEED MORE COFFEE!    Its good for the soul and for your leg strength!

There is no such thing as over training.
