What excuses do you guys hear every day for why people aren’t successful? Or why they aren’t lifting big weights?
-
I will list a few:
-
- Between school and working part time I just can’t find time…but if I could train full time I bet I’d be snatching 140kg too…
-I just went on vacation…but I will be strong again soon.
-I can’t get enough sleep because I’m just too busy with schoolwork
-I can’t lift on Pendlay bars and bumpers so I don’t lift at all.

I actually think that last one is valid, but, I do agree that all the others are total BS.
I think if people knew how bad you guys here at cal strength hurt at the start of some of the workouts they would be surprised…  or knew all the difficulties that have to be overcome to do what your doing…  the difference between you guys and others is that instead of making excuses, your making lifts.

I have bad knees.
My Doctor advised against it.
I have low test levels.
It hurts.

The 1st one is the one I hear all the time. I have had 4 knee surgeries on my right knee and I am 30% disabled but yet I still hit 500lbs on the squat. BooYaaa!

This is not quite on topic, but, I once knew a guy on full disability from the police force who did about 400lb bench, and about 600lbs on both squat and deadlift.  As I remember, he had a pretty good military press also.

There are a lot of excuses out there. What it comes down to is what you focus on. Those who focus on the excuses end up on the bottom. Those who know the excuses and choose to ignore them are at the top.
Possibles; I’m lifting alone and it’s hard to stay motivated.
In the winter it’s too cold
I don’t have a coach.
