P90X? ??

Has anyone tried or heard about P90X?

What are your thoughts, everybody is talking about how sick the workouts are..

Is it worth spending the money?

i’ve had a bunch of friends try it and get some pretty decent results, but once they stopped they reverted back to their previous shape.
I think the p90x system falls into the same category of workouts with crossfit and some of the other home video workouts you’ll find. they are fun and help keep someone motivated, but when it comes down to it, it is just a way to get a person who usually doesn’t work out all that often to actually move around some. if you already have a good nutrition plan and workout routine, i wouldn’t waste my time with it. if you are looking to change things up a bit i might take a flyer on it, but for most muscledogs i doubt it’ll do much.

Thanks Pete, that makes Of sense.  I have the motivation and training knowledge so I think it would be a waste of money.
Does P90X have any new creative exercises or is it basic compound movements??

i’m pretty sure that the px90 has separate workouts that you follow and they focus on different movements for different body parts. i think i saw a workout that used 1 arm pushups once. they do use compound movements like squats and such, but you will never be loaded with weights, or at least nothing substantial.
i’m pretty sure the goal is just to get your heart rate up and move, i wouldn’t expect to build any amount of significant muscle doing those workouts. of course if you are a fat lazy bastard that never goes to the gym you are going to build some muscle cause you are finally moving, but it certainly won’t turn you into a ripped bodybuilder or anything like that. when i think px90 i think of lonely housewives and desparate fat people who stay up late watching infomercials while plowing through a tub of ice cream.

Jonnoth, your comment was to funny.

I guess people have to buy dumbbells and bands to do this workout at home.  It seems that px90 focuses on key elements such as compound movements, circuits, heart rate, recovery, form, and stretching.  These are all crucial elements when designing a workout routine. This is a great starting point for beginners; hopefully they will learn how to customize new and productive routines in the future.

A friend of mine who used to be a boxer was doing this for a while and she loved the workouts, said they really helped get her back in shape. I’ll take that with a grain of salt since her goal wasn’t to build any muscle, just to get back in shape, but she’s always worked out pretty hard and it sounded challenging for her. Just what I’ve heard…
