I’ve started doing 20 rep squats followed by 20 rep Straight leg deadlifts.

This is brutal but I must admit I get some serious results.

blake, you should know by now that we’re gonna ask for goals and more specific information. would you go to a barber you’ve never worked with and just tell him to cut your hair shorter, any style he wants? would you hire a tutor for school and just tell them to teach you something about science?

we need more info about what you want to accomplish with these workouts. unless you just want to hear “go do more squats and pullups”.

help us help you!

hahahahaha sorry, my bad, well im looking to get explosive, and as of now im not allowed to squat because supposidly it puts too much pressure on my spine and it would stunt my growth, also, right now for legs i do leg press, calf press, leg extentions, and leg curls, and i feel like im done in like 15 mins (4 sets of each exersise) and as far as back goes i wanna gain as much strength as possible but i dont have a clue of any exersies, i  currently do rows, pull backs, and lat pulls and thats it so im looking for more exersises.
Thanks
Blake

who on earth told you that squatting will stunt your growth? and of course squatting can hurt your spine, but only if you are doing them wrong. i would recommend two solutions that should help with your goal to become more explosive and the spine issue:
try weighted bulgarian split squats, which reduce the load and take a ton of the load off of your back. set up under a bar like normal, but use a ton less weight (figure out what you can handle by starting with the bar and slowly adding weight) and put one leg behind you up on the bench. squat down on your single leg, almost like a lunge.
to increase explosiveness, if you don’t want to use cleans or snatches (Olympic lifts), try loading up a light bar and do jump squats with the bar on your back like normal. go down deep like a normal squat, and holding the bar tightly on your shoulders with a close hands grip explode up and jump. make sure to bend you knees on the way down to cushion your landing.

you will probably have to use light weight with both but integrating these should help. any plyometric (explosive movement) work you can do will help. i might also recommend step-ups, glute ham raises (set up on the lat pulldown machine if they don’t have a ham raise machine) and a lot of standing and seated calf raises with good form (slow tempo, pause at top and bottom, don’t bounce).

hope this helps!

If you want a stronger back I would switch from lat pulldowns to pullups. Use bands if you need to until you can support your own weight, but those will make you stronger in the long run. You can even make them explosive by pulling strong on the up part and going slow with the negative, although you probably won’t be able to do too many of those in one set. I would also use bent over dumb-bell rows, face pulls, and rack pulls if you are going for size.

Squatting will not stunt your growth… However, BAD form can be dangerous…

Make sure you have a good trainer/couch that knows what he/she is doing… Don’t focus on heavy weight, just take baby steps…

First start squatting with no weight and work your way up… If your squat form is bad it could affect many of your other lifts, cause imbalances, injuries, and weak undeveloped muscles.

I think you are jumping the gun…

If you really want to reach your goals, I highly recommend hiring a professional to set you up with a good program, access you, and help you figure out your goals…

When people ask you what your goals are you give a hundred different answers…

Hey blake, how is your back and leg excercises going?  what did you decide to do?  What kind of gains have you made?  Do you have access to an olympic weightlifting platform and weights?  Hope the workouts are going well, hit me back I want to hear it all!
