omg.. he is Russian and said hello!! haha
That is pretty sick though.. He was perfectly fine after.. I would have been huffing and puffing after a lift like that..
Pete what kind of debate are you looking for?? was it something to do with his form and Jons comment?

Its a hip debate, for some crazy crazy reason, American coaches dont teach the hip and bar crash, they teach the arm pull, shrug stuff, or hitting the bar on the low or high thigh and then pulling the bar with there arms after words. In my opnion the bar hits the hips and then you go under to catch…thats it. the hit and catch. I want to get in a debate with someone who disagrees with me. its very frustrating to me, how can they not see what andrea is doing! do you?
That guys is stupid strong. And Laura I think you’d be flattened like a pancake with that kind of weight… that’s 396 lbs (180 kgs).
I’m not a big fan of hitting hard with the hips Jon, but you already knew that. I like for my guys to use their whole body, exploding up with their legs and driving through the hips while pulling on the bar. Everyone does the lifts the way that is best for them, it takes a long time to get used to hitting with the hips like that.

Spitz… I never said that I was able to actually lift that weight… I would be super women!!!.. I HAVE NO DESIRE

I though this was a great comment. Everyone has their own strengths… Just like pitchers in baseball. Each pitcher has a different technique.. does this apply to olympic lifts?
Is there really a right way to lift the bar?
What if you are weak in one area of the lift, wouldn’t it make sense to compensate other techniques to get the bar up?

i’m not looking for a debate, that guy is a freakin beast. he reminds me of Nekolay, this Bulgarian lifter we used to have at Cal Strength.
and if lifting is like pitching i must be The Freak like Timmy Lincecum cause every time i try to lift Glenn laughs at me and says he has never seen anything like it.
